The National Weather Service says at least one tornado hit the Houston area during powerful thunderstorms that flooded roads and knocked out power.
The weather service said Tuesday a tornado with 95 mph winds briefly touched down Monday in the community of Mission Bend, located about 25 miles southwest of Houston.
The tornado caused roof or fence damage to at least 10 homes. No injuries were reported.
Weather teams are still determining if a tornado also hit a mall in Texas City, about 40 miles southeast of Houston. No one was hurt and the mall was shut down.
Meanwhile, the weather service says snow was ending Tuesday across West Texas. Midland has received nearly 11 inches of snow since Monday.
